One of the many new Global Faces of America
as brought to us by the Bush/Cheney/Republican "Culture of Life"

The Empire's Systemic Torture
As time passes and the great oil pipeline crusade of Operation Iraqi Liberation continues, the occupation stormtroopers have quickly responded to the disgrace of the revelation of Abu Ghraib by covering the tracks of the Bush Administrations worldwide policy of torturing and murdering prisoners.

As I have stated previously on this blog, from Gitmo to the vast number of hidden American gulags in the Middle East and around the globe, The United States has proven itself to be unworthy of the trust and confidence of the world. It is a good thing they don't give a rats ass about international law and world opinion - but what war criminals ever have?
Despite the slick branding of American propaganda they are no better than the despots they claim to be "liberating" people from.

Army Files Cite Abuse of Afghans
Washington Post
"The allegation is detailed in internal Army criminal files, released yesterday, that also document other allegations of abuse in Afghanistan as recent as lastyear. Previous abuse allegations have mostly concerned U.S. military activitiesin Iraq in 2003; these documents detail parallel conduct in Afghanistan in 2004."

New allegations of prisoner abuse by U.S. soldiers
CBC
"The ACLU says the documents show that what happened in Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison was not isolated and that the military tried to suppress information about widespread prisoner abuse."

Iraqi Died While Hung From Wrists By US
Associated Press via rense
"Al-Jamadi was one of the CIA's "ghost" detainees at Abu Ghraib - prisoners being held secretly by the agency."

More Canadian Shame
Shades of Somalia?
It seems as though our Canadian Soldiers are aping the brutal and torturous behaviour of their American counterparts as we aid the American occupation of Afghanistan.
(Thus freeing up American stormtroopers for the permanent criminal occupation of Iraq and eventual illegal invasion of surrounding countries.)
It is time to get our flag out of the region and end our shameful association with America's oil war.
With the consistent revelations of the true nature of this Imperial power play, we are only given more reasons why we should not be anywhere over there under NATO or any banner.
Regardless of how token our military presence is, it is time for Canada to exit this disgrace.
Unfortunately The Liberals provide yet another reason to never vote for them again as devious Billy Graham has stated that we will be expanding our role in Afghanistan.

Occupation Electionshow and the Dipping of fingers in the Grape Kool-Aid.
Whoever You Vote For, Washington wins
Voices in the Wilderness
"The elections in Iraq have been an unprecedented opportunity for ordinary people to influence the destiny of their country, but the National Assembly they have elected is so hedged in with US-imposed restrictions that the cabinet it produces will be more like a chain-gang of prisoners than an independent government.
A prominent Iraqi politician in the Shia coalition told the New Yorker in January that the US had quietly told the parties before the election that there were three conditions for the new government: it should not be under the influence of Iran; it should not ask for the withdrawal of US troops; and it should not install an Islamic state."

The trumpets and fanfare granted to the Occupation Electionshow in Iraq by the Western media always highlight the way in which the benevolent, godlike hand of Imperial America has granted these hapless Arabs “god’s gift” of stilted, gunpoint democracy.
Nobody in the western media mentions the fact that this election was engineered
(against the initial will of the Bush Administration that did not want this "election")
by an Occupying Army,
and as such is illegitimate under international law.

Without the hackable digital voting equipment to engineer an outcome coupled with an angry Arab population that would probably not swallow an American style outcome involving more votes than registered voters, The Empire settled for a divide and conquer result with no clear majority ruler.
They who count the votes control the outcome regardless of the current media conjecture/spin about Shiite theocratic Rule.
Not a peep was heard in the western media about the fact the most (non-Kurdish) Iraqis interviewed post election claimed to have voted in order to form a government that would demand an end to the American occupation.

The Shiites will now have to cooperate with the American puppets in the Kurdish north to pass any kind of effective legislation in Iraq and everybody knows that the Kurds will always vote for the permanent presence of their American benefactors.
The goal of the Americans from the start has always been to allow chaos to reign in Iraq so that they could effectively claim their oil pumping occupation is the only chance of restoring “order”.

Who benefits from instability leading to sectarian violence in the Arab world?
I believe the wonderful blog Xymphora called it in fairly succinct terms:

"The Iraqi-Iranian war failed to accomplish
the dissolution of Iraq, so the Americans were tricked by the neocons into the attack on Iraq, largely through the efforts of Douglas Feith feeding erroneous Israeli-prepared intelligence into the American political system. Feith will no doubt someday be honored by a statue in Israel. Israeli or American agents provocateurs currently operating in Iraq are finishing the job proposed by Yinon, as part of a similar ongoing operationagainst all the Arab states, of breaking the country up into small, unthreatening ethnic enclaves. Now we're
supposed to believe that this phony election, staged by the neocons and run by the Pentagon, with the votes counted without any effective international monitoring, represents a defeat for the neocons? I don't think so."

I wonder how many millions of American tax dollars where paid out to warlords and power hungry clerics, (like Al Sadr) to stand down, stay quiet and thus in the absence of a strident, non-insurgent opposition legitimize the Occupation Election.

What a sham.
