"Big Brother is Watching and Listening to You"

"Unfettered government electronic and data mining surveillance of its citizens is a genii that once released from its legal bottle becomes a grave menace to democratic society.
So-called terrorism is such a loose and flexible concept that it can easily be applied to just about any activity."

Merry Chrisukahramadwanzaa

Another year crumbles into history.
Canada’s winter election is as exciting as sanding the enamel off of your teeth but I am tapping out a brief preview/overview of the issues that caught my ear for the Xmas weekend post.
It is great to see Americans waking up to the fact that their government is their greatest enemy. With the tools like the Patriot Act, Homeland security and George Bush’s abuse of constitution-repealing powers to spy on everybody it must be emerging into the public consciousness that the “war on terror” is more about containing and fleecing Americans than it is about protecting them.
Holidays should be happy times so be kind to each other.

watch your words slowly unfold in dreamlines

"December 8, 2005 -- North African nation hosting secret prisoners identified. According to informed intelligence sources, the country that is hosting most of the U.S. terrorist suspects moved from Eastern European secret prisons in advance of Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's recent European visit is Morocco.

Many of the prisoners are being held at remote prisons established by former King Hassan II to torture political prisoners. Many of these prisons are in located high in the Atlas Mountains and are so remote, they can only be easily reached by helicopter.

The deal with Morocco was reached as a result of the close relations between Morocco's King Mohammed VI and former Secretary of State and UN Special Envoy for Western Sahara James Baker, Baker's Special Envoy assistant John Bolton, and former US ambassador to Morocco Margaret Tutwiler. Western Sahara is illegally occupied by Morocco but the Bush administration supports the continued Moroccan occupation of the oil and mineral rich territory. In return, Morocco has supported the holding of "Al Qaeda" suspects, interrogations by its security services, and close liaison with Israeli intelligence and military personnel."

Martin proposes sweeping ban on handguns

WHY?

Dick Cheney pissed off over P.M’s Climate Change Conference remarks. (Who Cares?)

While the Whitehouse generally does not pay attention to Canadian concerns about anything, it appears that Dick (Torture King) Cheney has dispatched one of his flying Neocon monkeys to whine and scold Ambassador Frank McKenna about Big Pauly Martin’s statement at the Montreal Climate Change Conference.

"Washington furious over Martin's climate change comments"
CBC

Martin said Wednesday at the UN Conference on Climate Change,

"There is such a thing as a global conscience. Now is the time to listen to it. Now is the time to join with others in our global community. Now is the time for resolve, for commitment and leadership and, above all, now is the time for action. Because only by coming together can we make real and lasting progress."

"The defining cause of climate change is human activity – primarily how we produce and use energy."

He referred to the US as one of the “reticent nations” when it comes to global environmental treaties and discussions.
Now Big Pauly’s record on matters such as green house gas emissions has not been so shit hot because the “Liberal” government has been awfully fond of licking corporate hoop where environmental accountability is concerned. There is a great deal of room for improvement where the environment is concerned here in Canada.
The citizens of this country demand improvement in our standards and roundly support global treaties on pollution reduction, with the exception Steve Harper’s (Neo) Conservatives and their supporters. Most of them believe the world is 6000 or so years old and human effects on climate change do not exist.
(After all, who cares, Jesus is coming soon to kill us all anyway)

The fact that gross and mindless over-consumption seems to be considered a “human right” by the American Neocons and their right wing supporters in the US will keep them from any sort of environmental accountability to their own citizens – never mind the world.

After all their government is dedicating trillions of American tax dollars and thousands of American lives to mass murdering and torturing Iraqis so American and British Oil Companies can continue to control the world supply of fossil fuels.

I do believe that many intelligent and progressive Americans would like to see some discipline, international accountability, and leadership from their government where the browning air and warming globe are concerned.

Big Billy Clinton showed up to speak to the conference and the P.M. about the fact that a great many Americans do share the same concerns as the rest of the worlds more progressive nations. I would imagine that Clinton was aware of the fact that Dick Cheney was overseeing the American contingency sent to the conference - essentially rendering them utterly useless.
(They are holding a joint new conference as I type). It's a damn shame the only American politicians who show a global conscience are Democratic ex-presidents.

Let’s all keep in mind here the goal of this conference is to attempt to set some international goals and standards for progressive nations that actually give a flying fuck about the personal and industrial poisoning of our environment.

Nobody is trying to take away Dick’s new Iraqi Oil Colony.
I join the chorus of real humans around the globe and in America who would invite the snarling war criminal Cheney to “go fuck yourself”.

But, oh no watch out Canada,
"CBC News correspondent Neil MacDonald said he has been told that the Americans are watching the election campaign, and if there is too much anti-U.S. rhetoric, that it would an impair progress on sensitive political issues between the countries."

I am sure Neil meant the Cheney/Bush Cartel and their thralls are watching the elections,
(I don't think too many average American joes even know it is going on).
I would say that 99 percent of "Anti-American" sentiment here and abroad is directly caused by the war criminal Cheney/Bush Cartel and their arrogant supporters. It appears that dissent is also not allowed outside of the US either in the minds of Repugnican Americans. I guess we’ll be accused of being “unpatriotic”. Either way, those seedy right wing sleazebags in the US blackmailing people with the choice of groupthink compliance or punishment is old news.

The first Canadian politician who openly caters his comments to the whims of war criminals and planetary wasters like Dick, George and their ilk can kiss his ass goodbye where Canadian voters are concerned. I expect Steve Harper to begin kissing fat Republican ass any time now.

Send that floppy, oil soaked ass over here for kisses, Dick.

Catching up with current events is like running to beat the Sunrise

I have been offline for a wee respite of eating cookies and watching TV while cultivating a more conspicuous layer of body fat. Having missed the subliminal mind control carrier signal broadcast over the Internet my brain has commanded me to begin ranting again and rant I shall.

With the Canadian Christmas Election (ho, ho, fucking ho) and the festering American sores of the still unsolved conspiracy of 11/09/01 and the still failed occupation of the middle east (and Canada’s disturbing role in it) my chilly nubs are clacking keys in a cacophony reminiscent of the rattling chains of Jacob Marley’s ghost.

My blog has been tirade deficient for the last few months and although I do enjoy linking freaky or compelling stories (and will continue to do so) there is just too much that I wish to say.
Because I am not really a “writer” I cannot really claim to have been experiencing “writer’s block” but let me suffice it to say that things had gotten all balled up at head office.

When last posting commentary I was lamenting the downplaying of American/coalition atrocities in the Western media as mere “abuse at Abu Ghraib”. Since then the terrorist activity of the CIA (with their kidnapping, flying torture jets and secret gulags) has exploded in the media (along with the war crimes of Western militaries) and the bashful war shills of American and Canadian media have come to terms with the reality of the existence of TORTURE as it is systemically utilized by the so-called civilized world.

I have a friend’s very worthwhile book (great for stuffing into stockings, B.T.W.) to review and many sexy images to steal from more creative souls than I so Ya’ll come back now ya hear!

Until tomorrow (or perhaps later tonight) I'll leave you with this sick little gem, (click the pic to feel the sick) from a blog tradition that I like to call...

WHY?

Canada’s Winter Election Campaign: You would think having all that smoke blown up your ass would warm the winter chill…

Fake "Liberal", Big Pauly Martin

Just a quick rundown of the political situation in my fair Canuckistan.
Having been absent from the blog for a long while, a game of “catch up” is now being undertaken.
Over the next few days and weeks I will examine specific issues presented by the various parties and apply my personal perspective to them...

We really need a fixed election date in this country and oh yes, I hate Paul Martin.

Having said those two things I would still rather see another Liberal minority, (with a strong NDP presence), than a rise to power of the Reform Alliance Neoconservatives, (They logically dropped the “Progressive” from their party moniker because the word simply does not apply to the old Progressive Conservative party that has been swallowed by the right wing Western Separatist Reform Movement).
Aside from the socially liberal aspects of the "Liberal" party their fiscal policies are more like the Neocon's than either party would want us to believe.
A mere 17 months after the last minority government was elected we are forced by the naked ambitions of Steve Harper (and the separatist Bloc in Quebec), to endure a Christmas/winter campaign that will be one of the longest in a quarter century.

Having done NOTHING but drone endlessly about the Liberal's Quebec scandal while attempting to force an election in their entire time as the official opposition the Neoconservatives have finally shut down the Parliament (putting an end to all bill passages)and thus marked their only accomplishment in the minority house, (Unlike the NDP who worked the minority government and gained much needed funding for social programs by supporting a "Liberal"/NDP budget that included their socially conscious concessions.)

These Neoconservatives were so obsessed with obtaining power that they had no qualms about shutting down Ottawa and dragging the nation into a premature campaign that is most likely to result in the same house configuration as now (with perhaps a few minor tweaks). They just couldn’t wait for the February election promised by Big Pauly.
I guess that privatizing healthcare, cutting taxes (even more than the “Liberals” already have promised) for millionaires and corporations and involving Canada in more military occupations,(than the "Liberals" already have) abroad is just too important to these 1950’s throwbacks.

Cheney/Bush's pick for a Neocon Canada. They enjoyed the way Steve grovelled on American TV apologizing for Canada not participating in the illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq (aka Operation Iraq Liberation)

Some “pundits”, (mostly the right wing cheerleaders on the Global and CTV networks) also predict we could see the undesirable situation where a Neoconservative minority is won. This would have Canadians returning to the polls relatively soon after a Neocon minority attempt to push through some of their hard right wing Cheney/Bush-style policies and the other Canadian parties are forced to bring them down in defence of Canada.

Of course the Separatist Bloc in Quebec have been Steve’s greatest allies through all of this. The Neocons know that the only way they will ever again form a majority government is if the French leave Canada and take what is left of their beleaguered “Liberal” supporters with them.
While Steve and the rest of your racist grandma’s party essentially covet a Canadian society more in lockstep with the now theocratic American society, Canadians (if ever actually presented with the ENTIRE Neoconservative agenda) will, as a compassionate and progressive society, reject the Republican-style dreams of Harper and his right wing whiners,
(or so I sincerely hope).

So here we are now, being courted by the three federal leaders (and a separatist exclusively in Quebec) with promises that sound like a bunch of rabid dogs barking down a well to hear their own echoes.

Tomorrow, I will start my rundown of the issues and the party promises that poke me in the eye and cause me to wish for more ear wax.
