Many of the Warlord Mullahs occupying the American puppet government’s parliament are the same “ Mujahadeen freedom fighters” turned “private security contractors” rented by the Americans to do the bulk of “enforcement” in the countryside whose loyalty to the “Western Vision” of Afghanistan is as steadfast as the frequency of their American paycheques.
Today’s “ally” could just as readily be tomorrow’s “enemy” depending on which direction the depleted uranium wind is blowing.

Many of these now American-legitimized Warlords were also the recipients of CIA/ISI funding and training and have old/current ties to the CIA/ISI database of Mujahadeen anti-Soviet “freedom fighters” known as “al Qaeda”.

These parliamentary Warlords stand firmly against the rights of women as equal citizens and enjoy the protection of the Afghan regime and Western “intelligence” agencies and armies.
The Warlords who do not “play ball” with the Western agencies are branded “Taliban supporters” or “al Qaeda” and are hunted down by American forces and their various contractors,(including Canada).
Anybody who tells you we are there to “free the women” or build schools where our wonderful Western revisionist corporate history can be taught to the hapless backward Afghanis is just patting you on the head and blowing smoke up your ass.

but think back to the rationale for the whole war there.
They were “hiding” the now deceased Osama Bin Laden.

Can you also recall that they offered to TURN HIM OVER to the US if the Bush regime could offer a SHRED of proof that he had anything to do with 09/11/01?
That would have ended this nightmare 'war of terror' America has inflicted upon the world and dragged all of their allies into.
Ending such a highly profitable venture was always out of the question.

"While the war rages on, a huge environmental disaster is threatening Lebanon's coast. Up to 35,000 tons of oil have spilled into the Mediterranean following Israeli air strikes -- now it is a race against time to prevent long-term damage and the destruction of a fragile ecosystem."

"In an interview with the BBC, the ministry’s director general, Berj Hatjian, compared the oil slick to that caused by the Exxon Valdez tanker, “with 20,000 to 30,000 tons reaching the shoreline.” When the tanker sank off the coast of Alaska in 1989, 40,000 tons of oil were released into the sea. The result was the worst ever maritime environmental disaster. Hundreds of thousands of animals died, and because the oil spill could not be completely cleaned up animals are still being poisoned today.

The environmental impact of the current oil slick is not confined to Lebanon and risks spreading through the Mediterranean. The Regional Marine Pollution Emergency Response Center (Rempec), based in Malta, has already recorded the first traces of oil on the Syrian coast — confirming reports of contamination made by the port authority at Syria’s coastal town of Tartus. Environmental groups in Lebanon are also warning that the pollution could reach the coasts of Turkey and Cyprus."

The timing for the capture of the Litani in 1978 was logical: if South Lebanon were secured at the time, the waters of the Litani would be available for Israeli use by some point in the mid-1980s, when Israel anticipated that the waters captured in the 1967 war would be fully used up and more water needed. However, as things stand now, the coveted waters of the Litani remain undeveloped for Lebanon and in limbo for Israel.
On the whole, the 1967 war secured the capture of about 900 mcm/y of water for the Israelis, or nearly half of their water use. These waters are now so many arguments against any kind of settlement with the Palestinians which would involve restitution of that water. . ."
